Tipi Trail
Welcome to TipiTrail, our premium woodland camping pitches. If you'd like privacy and seclusion, tree cover and the sound of running water, then Tipi Trail is what you need. Set behind the main camping fields, Tipi Trail has all this and more. There are 8 pitches, all with their own unique benefits, two of these are where the Woodland Yurt and The Hobbit Yurt are housed in amongst the trees.
Pitch one (called Stepping Stones) is just after you cross from Lower Moat into Upper Moat on the right and from there Tipi Trail runs all the way down to Frank's Spot about 350 metres away.
In order (closest to furthest) the pitches are:
2. Hobbit Yurt 4. Bluebell 5. Brookside 7. Cherry Tree 8. Frank's Spot Green - Available
To see pitches 1, 2, 3, 6 please see the Yurt section above.
4. Bluebell Pitch - Situated next to the Woodland Yurt and brook with a willow screen for privacy. This is on high ground so best pitch for all year round camping and wet weather. Closest pitch to car park, water tank and compost loo for those not wanting to carry their belongings far or restricted walking. Can fit one large or two small tents. Surrounded by Bluebells in spring hence the name.
5. Brookside - Brookside is in the 2nd half of Tipi Trail. This pitch is the largest of our Tipi Trail pitches with the possible option of up to 4 tents, contact Wowo direct for bookings over 4 adults and 4 kids for this pitch. With a screened fire pit area next to the brook over looking an empty field, a
7. Cherry Tree - The penultimate pitch near the end of Tipi trail on pitch number 7. It is the closest pitch to the Little Owl yurt but not too close for comfort. It will fit one large (6 man) or two medium(4 man)/small tents on. Nestled next to the Pellingford brook you will hear the stream trickle and the toot of resident owls by night to lull you into a deep sleep.
8. Frank's Spot - A lot of our campers think that this is the best spot on the campsite. It certainly is the most secluded out of Tipi Trail, therefore offering the most tranquility. At the very end of Tipi trail, down a narrow track, it has its own little beach by the brook. You can fit one large or 2/3 small (2 man) tents on this pitch. This is the furthest pitch from the compost loo (2 min walk) and main facilities (6 min walk), so be prepared to carry your stuff roughly 50m. We have now added a 'bridge' across into the field next door for more space & relaxation.
Below are a few pictures of Tipi Trail to give you an idea of how beautiful and secluded it is.
