Shepherds Hut

New for November 2011 we now have a Shepherds Hut in Tipi Trail on the first pitch Stepping Stones.

This is Wowo's first Shepherds hut skillfully crafted by our in-house carpenter Mark (who also made the Hobbit yurt).  Insulated with Wool and fitted with a wood burner, this super cosy retreat is ideal for any romantic getaway or for a time of solitude and silence.  Based on the 19th Century original design of a shepherds hut with simple furnishings we have added a few modern day home comforts.

The Shepherds Hut is ideal for a quiet couples retreat as it sleeps 2 adults (the same as the Hobbit Yurt). As it is so cosy inside, the wood burner will be very efficient in heating the small space making it much quicker to heat.

Inside the hut comes with a very clever pull down double futon bed which you can flip away during the day to reveal your kitchen table and benches. Wowo warning: Due to the nature of the Shepherds hut, the bed is on the snug side in length and not really suited to a couple sharing with some one over 5ft 8". A tall person could stay there alone quite successfully, making full use of the diagonal possibilities.

The kitchen area is equipped with a gas burner and all the pots/pans/crockery/glasses you will need, all you have to bring is your food and drink.  Check out what's available in our campsite reception shop or the section on local produce to help you with this.

Situated in our woodland strip we call 'Tipi trail' on a pitch called Stepping stones, you will hear the Owls at night and numerous birdsongs to wake you in the morning.

Check in time is 2pm and check out time in 11am.
