Milly Hawkins & Team - Wild in the Woods

Milly head shot

Since 2008 I have been working as a qualified Forest Schools Leader and environmental educator, initially with Sussex Wildlife Trust, and more recently with the RSPB and freelance.  As a passionate believer that kids (and adults!) need quality time in nature, I try to lead participants deeper into their own connection with nature in practical, creative and fun ways.  I mix bushcraft, natural and historical crafts, foraging, nature awareness, imaginative games and storytelling to encourage those I work with to explore their relationship to, and above all enjoy the natural world.  I have worked with children of all ages and needs, as well as with adults running numerous pre-history and foraging workshops, and proving that one of the best ways to connect more with nature is through our stomachs!

In the past I’ve gained valuable experience in many bushcraft activities with East Sussex Archaeology and Museums Partnership (ESAMP), and have built on my knowledge of foraging from working with Professor Gordon Hillman.  Prior to that I worked with Greenpeace Australia developing a love of communicating all things environmental.

The drive behind my work is my love of the natural world but I also hold various qualifications to back this up including a Health Science degree, Forest School Leader qualification, Environmental Conservation NVQ, First Aid Certificate, an Outdoor Food Hygiene certificate, and I have an enhanced DBS check.

Please contact Wowo if you’d like to ask about private group bookings and birthday parties.
